Alma: Tell me about your student experience.
Alexander: I transferred into UIUC as a junior from my local community college. At first I was a bit overwhelmed by the learning curve of the more advanced classes. I as used to learning in an environment of less than 20 students, so being in a lecture hall with 300 other students was different, to say the least. However, after the first semester, I got into the swing of things as was able to feel more comfortable with the learning environment here.
Alma: What are your plans after graduation?
Alexander: I have a summer internship at Alcatel-Lucent in Naperville as a Network Performance Engineer and I will be attending the University of Glasgow as a Graduate student in the fall.
Alma: Is there anything you'd like to say to alumni and friends who support Illinois?
Alexander: Keep it up! UIUC is a fantastic school and I would like for it to remain that way!
Alma: If you could offer one piece of advice to incoming students, what would it be?
Alexander: Find some good friends, get involved, and have fun! Oh, and do your homework early!
