    On April 23, 2014, the Dept. of Comparative Biosciences and College of Veterinary Medicine celebrated Dr. Fred Kummerow's centennial year with a symposium in his honor.  Starting with the President of the University of Illinois, Dr. Robert Easter (shown below), all speakers have been trained by Dr. Kummerow and/or had a very special connection to his career.  The day was capped off by, of course, trans fat-free cake.
