Maggie Blattner completed her PhD in the Neuroscience Program under Comparative Biosciences faculty member Dr. Megan Mahoney. Maggie is now enrolled as 2nd year medical student as part of the Medical Scholars Program at the College of Medicine.
Comparative Biosciences faculty member Suzanne Berry-Miller published research in Stem Cells Translational Medicine detailing the use of stem cells to prevent the onset of dilated cardiomyopathy, a terminal condition in patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, in animal models for the disease.

Joe Cacioppo, DVM/PhD candidate in the laboratory of Dr. CheMyong (Jay) Ko, presented a poster at the 2012 Illinois Symposium on Reproductive Sciences. Out of 85 poster presentations, Joe's presentation was selected as one of the top five.
