Dr. Rachell Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Springfield and Author. She taught in and chaired the Human Services Department. Since retirement in 2008, she has been very active.
Run Turkeys, Run is her eighth book. Other books include poetry, books about raising children, books about psychotherapy and memoirs.
She holds degrees from Philander Smith College, Northern Illinois University and the University of Illinois at Springfield and the Adler School of Professional Psychology.
She ran a private clinical practice in Springfield, Illinois from 1974 until she retired in July, 2008. Dr. Anderson taught clinical courses to graduate students and served as Chair of the Department of Human Services (HMS) at the University of Illinois at Springfield.
She is a native Mississippian who moved back to Tunica after retirement. She lives on her familys farm in rural Mississippi where she helps to care for her 98 year old mother, grows flowers, volunteers clinical hours at the Church Health Center in Memphis and teaches Memoir Writing Workshops at the Tunica Museum. She helped to form the Tunica Chapter of the Mississippi Writers Guild, a group whose moto is No writer without a voice. She writes every day and keeps up with her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews via FaceBook.
