MBA1s were inspired by Dean Larry Debrock, College of Business, and gained some valuable knowledge from our Associate Dean Stig Lanesskog who is also a 1996 graduate of the ILLINOIS MBA. Then they participate in an important Group Communication Skills activity led by Professor Gregory Northcraft. After a taco bar lunch, MBA1s learned about the exciting opportunities at ILLINOIS, in cities like Mexico City, Berlin, Paris, and Milan. Next Professor Nick Petruzzi gave an entertaining, yet informative overview of the MBA curriculum. The day concluded with a class photo and trip to the bowling alley.
Today MBA1s took a trip to beautiful Allerton Park in Mahomet, IL to participate in a Challenge Course. The primary goal of is to improve upon teamwork skills and get-to-know classmates. Some of the challenges that MBA1s accomplished today were the spider web, trust fall, climbing wall, sardines, incline bridge, floating hula hoops, silent log, tarzan, and trust walk. I would say by now the class is really starting to get to know each other. Tonight will wrap up with a surprise ice cream bar from Marble Slab at the BIF. Shh...don't tell the MBA1s.
One exciting aspect to our orientation is MBA2s have a large part in planning the week for the new students. Stay tuned for more exciting news from the Class of 2012 Orientation.
