It's a busy time of the year at the Illinois MBA. While the students are finishing up their semester projects, the admissions team has hit the road in search of the best students from around the world.

At Illinois, we're proud of our diversity.  We believe having a diverse student body leads to an interesting and balanced perspective in the classroom while creating a strong professional network for our students and alumni. This year's incoming class welcomed students from 17 countries around the world.

In order to find the best international students, our admissions team has traveled the globe over the last semester. In September, Brian Precious and Ben Moreland traveled to Brazil to talk with students and alumni in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janerio.  Later in October, Ben returned to Latin America to meet prospective students in Columbia and Mexico City.

In November, Ben spent two weeks in Asia, visiting South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. The University of Illinois has many strong ties with Asia and Ben enjoyed the opportunity to meet with alumni and interview students interested in joining the Illinois MBA class of 2013.

As Ben was winding down his Asian tour, Brian Precious and second-year MBA student Kyle Pietila traveled to Canada to talk with future Illini in Toronto and Montreal. It was our first recruiting trip to Canada in many years, but it won't be our last.  Many students were impressed with our flexible curriculum, student-run business consultancy and overall reputation of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

As I finish this blog, our Associate Dean, Stig Lanesskog is in Singapore meeting with more students interested in studying at Illinois.

Whether you are an international or a domestic student, if you are looking for an MBA program that values diversity, there is no better time to apply to Illinois.
