  • August? August!

I can't believe that it's August already! Summer has flown by, and that means there's a lot to talk about! Here's a bit about what I've been up to this summer, and even more importantly, why we are all excited for August 27!

I am finishing up my internship in Audit at Deloitte tomorrow. It's hard to believe it's already been ten weeks. I've had a great experience, working at a couple neat clients. The people at Deloitte are fantastic, and I also became great friends with many interns, including a ton of familiar faces from the College of Business. We also do an event called Big 4 Kickball, where all the interns from the Big 4 Accounting Firms get together and play kickball. Tracey and I were actually on opposing teams (she won)!

The best part about this time of year, however, is that we are just a couple weeks away from returning to Champaign. Catching up with old friends and seeing all the small changes around campus is always great. And, best of all, we get to meet the 600 new faces in the College of Business. The Freshmen BBQ is always one of our favorite events of the year.

This time of year also means things start getting busy with RSOs and all the different things we are involved in on campus. Info nights and fall calendars all need to be planned so that we're ready for Day 1.

FRESHMEN! Make sure you get out to Quad Day and Business Quad Day during your first few days on campus. Don't miss them. Business Council, an organization I'm involved in (and use to be President of!), has its info night the first TUESDAY after class start. That's super quick! Hit the ground with your feet running and see all the amazing things on campus there are to get involved with.

This will be my last year in Champaign, which is a totally strange feeling! It's hard to believe it's already year four. Time flies...soak in every minute and have a blast. These are the best four years of your life, right?
