Less than two weeks until Thanksgiving break…wow! This semester is flying by. It definitely feels like fall and that means that I am ready for Thanksgiving! Once the Pumpkin Spice Lattes come out at Starbucks, fall is finally here. The shorts and dresses are gone for now and Uggs, scarves, and winter coats have made their appearance. I love campus around this time because it is so beautiful with all of the leaves changing. We are all looking forward to going home for a week to spend time with our families and of course eat lots of delicious food. As much as I love it here, it will be very nice to have a break from all of the craziness of college and actually get some sleep and not have to worry about homework, exams, meetings, and interviews. Thankfully, it is the end of October and midterms are over. These couple of weeks shouldn’t be too busy – just a few quizzes, papers, and group projects due. Once we come back from Thanksgiving break, we only have three weeks until we are done with our first semester and go home for the holidays. What this means for me is that I only have a little over two months until I leave for Granada, Spain to study abroad for second semester. This is very exciting and nerve-racking at the same time, but I am really looking forward to it.
With this season of Thanksgiving, I have been thinking about how much I have to be thankful for. One of these things is the opportunity to go to such an amazing university. Many people across the world do not have the privilege of receiving an education and I feel so blessed to have this opportunity. I love U of I and I am so thankful for all of the experiences it has provided me.
