After interviewing on campus last spring, I knew PwC was the right fit for me. I started my internship at the beginning of January and was able to meet 70 new interns, some of whom I've already formed close relationships with and I know will be my friends for a long time to come. I am pleasantly surprised how much I learned and retained from school. U of I has always had a strong accounting program, and I am truly grateful for the skiils I learned throughout school which are helping me succeed as an intern.

I work with a team of 10 coworkers on a daily basis who have helped me along the way. Everyone has acted as a mentor to me in some way, whether it is coaching me through certain assignments or asking more trivial questions about company tools. One of my favorite things so far is not having to do work at home. I struggled at the beginning of my internship not going home and returning to the work I left unfinished at the end of the day. However, I have come to love getting home at the end of the day and getting to relax and unwind from work.

I earned the opportunity to travel to Belize this summer with PwC. Our company works with schools in Belize City to teach financial literacy to students, educate teachers, and provide resources to help students through high school to college. I will be headed to Belize in July with 100s of partners, associates and other interns from PwC across the country.

I am excited to be headed back to U of I for a year of graduate school in the fall. This glimpse into my future career is the perfect amount of time. I can't wait to be reunited with my friends and Champaign, a town I have called home for the last 3 1/2 years. Chicago will always be there, but I can only enjoy college for one more year. I'm sure after my final graduation, I will be ready to start a new chapter with great friends in the city, but for now just a little taste of the real world and year back in Champaign is what I'm looking forward to.
