  • UC Devices Now at Flash Drive

The Illini Union Flash Drive now has all of the UC Devices that CITES is currently testing.

Flash Drive is encouraging end users who are interested in seeing UC Devices up-close to come to their location in the Illini Union.  Users can go see the devices in action and ask questions.

Please keep in mind, the UC Program Office is not recommending nor supporting any particular device or devices. The devices that will be listed in the UC Device Catalog on iBuy and the devices found at the Illini Union Flash Drive are just the devices in the CITES test plan. Users are also encouraged to wait until their new UC Voice accounts are activated before contacting their individual units about obtaining a device. For now, the iBuy catalog and Flash Drive should be seen as a way for users to browse around and possibly test devices to see what they may want to use in the future with Unified Communications.

Curious to know if there is a program for borrowing the devices to take back to our departments for evaluation.

From what we understand here at the UC Program Office, Illini Union Flash Drive might be doing something similar to what you are asking about. We encourage you to contact Flash Drive directly about it. http://union.illinois.edu/flashdrive/ Thanks for asking!

Talked to Dave Zuranski at Flash Drive. If a department is trying to decide between one or two devices, he would be able to loan one of each out. You'd need to contact him and let him know the model information. I just called the general Flash Drive phone number (244-7938)and was transferred to him straight away. He seemed very helpful, so thumbs up to Dave & Flash Drive.
