Art of the American Indians: The Thaw Collection is on display December 2, 2011 - February 12, 2012 at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
The exhibition, organized by the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, New York, presents over 100 pieces from a diverse range of Native American cultures and serving a variety of purposes. The show focuses on capturing the diversity of cultures and expression among Native American tribes and, in doing so, calls attention to the importance of the arts in understanding and preserving ancient tradition.
