DOAJ is a searchable and browsable portal to open access journals. Aspiring to be a "one stop shop" for open access journals, DOAJ strives to provide comprehensive coverage of quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. In its own words, "The aim of [DOAJ] is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals thereby promoting their increased usage and impact". DOAJ uses the Budapest Open Access Initiative's (BOAI) definition of open access as freely enabling users to "read, download, copy distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles".
The Ricker Library finds this resource extremely valuable, and our users can find a link to it by following the E-Journals link that appears in the "Find Digital Resources" section of our home page. We hope our users will explore DOAJ and keep it in mind for their research in the future.
One journal that our users may find especially useful is the Journal of the International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art (RIHA), an international e-journal for the study of the history of art, now available throught DOAJ.
