WHO MAY ATTEND:

This conference will focus especially on the challenges of bargaining in the current hard times and is designed for both experienced and new negotiators in the public or private sectors.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:

Confronting the worst of hard times: budget cuts, plant closings, layoffs, furloughs, outsourcing and

downsizing

Living under the contract: considering enforcement while we negotiate

What does a good contract look like?

Making the pie bigger: finding more resources and how to get them

Contrasting models of bargaining: traditional, interest based or organizing model

At the table: basic negotiating skills

Away from the table: preparation, mobilizing and building allies

HOUSING:

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hawthorn Suites for this conference. Individual participants who need accommodations will be given the conference rate of $84.99 (plus tax) per night.
