| We present an analytical treatment of a single down-atom within a Fermi sea of up-atoms. Our treatment amounts essentially to an exact solution of this problem. This is done both when the attractive interactionis strong enough to produce a bound state, dressed by the Fermi sea, or when it is slightly weaker, leading to a dressed down-atom (a 'polaron'). Whenever our results can be compared toother methods, analytical or numerical (Monte-Carlo), the agreement is excellent. The success of our approach is due to its natural incorporation of a large number of contributions which displaya nearly perfect destructive interference. |
