Angela Ray is Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Northwestern University. A scholar of 19th century public address who frequently focuses on women's rhetoric, Professor Ray is author of the award-winning The Lyceum and Public Culture in the Nineteenth Century United States (Michigan State, 2005).

Professor Ray's talk is part of the Lincoln's Rhetorical Worlds speaker series co-sponsored by the Lincoln Bicentennial Committee and the Offices of the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of Public Engagement.
