| Sustainable e-Waste Design Competition

Variable credit possible; Open to all university students;
Initial class meeting: Thursday, Jan 22, 7:00-8:00 p.m. Rm. 41 Art and Design.
Participants: Undergraduate and graduate computer engineers/scientists, industrial designers, architects, artists, entrepreneurs and others will work in design teams of 3-5 students to create innovative uses for e-Waste. Class content delivered through seminars, lectures and participation in an e-Waste design competition.
Design Competition: participating teams of 3-5 students asked to donate an e-Waste computer so bring that old computer from home that is no longer being used. Hard drive data treated securely/erased. Electronic components for the competition made available through a campus wide e-Waste collection event. Design competition sponsors and jurors invited from fortune 500 companies such as Google, Microsoft, the US EPA, PCRR, Chicago, Dell and others.
