Managing your Course: Secrets to Surviving your Semester of Teaching or TAing. Are you concerned about how youll survive teaching or TAing a course for the first time next semester? Or are you currently a TA or graduate student instructor buried under piles of exams and papers to grade wishing you had organized the class differently or chosen different assignments? If you said yes, then this workshop is for you! Come and hear from faculty and experienced graduate students on how to manage your time as an instructor or TA, how to balance teaching and research, what steps you can take to make grading more manageable, develop assignments that will simplify your workload but still be effective, and much more! As part of the workshop, you will get the chance to get feedback about how to keep your course manageable, but still be effective. So, bring a draft of your syllabus or a brief outline of the assignments, projects, exams, etc. that may be included in your course or the course you will TA.
