Mark Pituch is the program officer responsible for grants at the Delegation of the European Union to the United States. Mark previously served as Associate Program Manager for the United States Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), an international development NGO. At CRDF he focused on the management of grant programs in Russia and Moldova. He holds a degree in International Relations from Grinnell College. Mark studied abroad in Spain at the Universidad de Sevilla and subsequently interned at the Warsaw offices of EFE, the Spanish news agency. He speaks Polish and Spanish fluently and is conversational in Russian.
His talk will focus on the the history of European integration, the current euro crisis, and the fiery resistance of some in Southern Europe to adopting economic austerity measures.
