Faculty, staff, and students are invited to learn about new developments in the MEAS Project in the College of ACES. The MEAS team (Paul McNamara, Burt Swanson, Andrea Bohn, Oliver Ferguson, and Joyous Tata) will provide an update on MEAS Year 2 accomplishments and Year 3 planned activities and lead a discussion on how faculty, staff, and graduate students can get involved.
The MEAS Core Award is a 5-year, $9 million USAID-funded project which involves the University of Illinois (lead institution), Michigan State University, University of Florida, Cornell University, North Carolina A & T University, and University of California at Davis. Additional partners include Catholic Relief Services, Winrock International, IFPRI, Cultural Practices, and others. MEAS works to strengthen agricultural extension systems in developing countries through applied research, training tools and activities, and country-level assessments and engagements. MEAS is now in its third year.
