Professor Taylor is a leading scholar in environmental studies and the author of The Environment and the People in American Cities: 1600s-1900s. Disorder, Inequalty and Social Change (Duke University Press, 2009) -- winner of the 2010 Allan Schnaiberg Outstanding Publication Award for the Environment and Technology Section of the American Sociological Association for publication completed between 2009 and 2009.
