Prof. Vatulescu is at work on a book on the role of fiction in documentary genres (such as material in secret police files), and will be speaking about the film genre of reenactment. She is a scholar of Russian and Romanian culture in the 20th century, aesthetics and politics, law and policing, literary and film theory and history.

Prof. Vatulescu is the author of the award-winning, "Police Aesthetics: Literature, Film, and the Secret Police in Soviet Times" (Stanford UP, 2010).  For more about the book visit:
