Gunther Schuller: A Life in Music

Gunther Schuller sits down with University of Illinois Horn Professor, Bernhard Scully, for a far ranging conversation covering jazz, classical music, musicology, the history of music in American from 1950 to the present, conducting, composition, music administration, music publishing and the recording industry.

Gunther Schuller's multifaceted career has spanned an amaging seven decades. A Grammy Award winning musical icon, MacArthur Fellow and Pulitizer Prize winning composer, Schuller is the President and founder at GM Recordings, President and founder of Gunmar Publishing Company, world-renowned conductor, former President of New England Conservatory, acclaimed music historian, prolific author, and jazz musician.
