Startup Cafe is an entrepreneur speaking series that shares experiences and wisdom of successful technology entrepreneurs that have a local connection with people working in the Research Park and community. John L. Flavin, MBA is the Managing Director, Flavin Ventures, LLC and Executive Director, Chicago Innovation Mentors, a consortium of Northwestern University, University of Chicago, University of Illinois, Argonne National Laboratory and iBIO Institute/Propel catalyzing university-based complex technology commercialization and entrepreneurship. John has led two successful NASDAQ IPOs, and has raised over $220 million in private and public funding with 20 years of experience in the life sciences field focused on entrepreneurial finance and operations. He currently manages a growing portfolio of companies that Flavin Ventures has formed or is co-developing with other venture firms in the life sciences arena.
