Description
This course is designed for those wanting a fundamental understanding of the technology and science associated with production of ethanol from cereal grains and biomass. The presenters will cover feedstock development, unit operations, process design and simulation, enzymatic technologies, coproducts, fractionation and other new technologies. The course is designed for a broad audience to serve representatives from dry grind ethanol, cellulosic ethanol and allied industries.
Purpose
To provide fundamental understanding of conventional and new ethanol production methods for representatives of the ethanol and allied industries. The course is ideal for plant personnel, technology providers, equipment vendors, enzyme companies, seed companies and trade organizations allied with the ethanol industry.

Director
Vijay Singh is an associate professor of agricultural and biological engineering. His research and teaching is on development of bioprocessing technologies for corn/biomass to ethanol, advanced biofuels, food and industrial products. He is author or coauthor of 170 publications on corn fractionation, ethanol production, new technologies, coproducts, process simulation and economic analysis. He serves on editorial boards of several journals and is also Associate Director of Center for Advanced BioEnergy Research (CABER)
