Abstract: Rapid advances in DNA sequencing technologies have made it possible to generate enough data to reconstitute the structure of almost any genome for less than $5000 and in less than a week. However, the computational costs incurred to manage and process the data remain a major bottleneck. I will give a rapid overview of the steps required to document all variants in a human genome and of some of our efforts to reduce the time required to run a corresponding workflow.
