Humans Helping Wildlife

The public's awareness of the importance of nature and wildlife has never been so high.  Being "green," or environmentally responsible, is now a major focus in America and is growing around the world.  There are many examples of how humans are negatively impacting wildlife.  But how are we helping wildlife?  As a zoo and wildlife veterinarian, Mark Stetter's professional career has provided him with a variety of examples of how we are helping to save wildlife.  He sees three primary themes emerging in this regard.  First, there are many efforts underway which directly support wild animals in nature.  Second, we manage and care for a large and diverse group of captive wildlife populations.  Lastly, and most importantly, we educate and inspire people around the world to appreciate and value wildlife and wild places.
