Climbing 101: Basics of Rock Climbing (Session 2)

Cost Fee $60 Members $75 Non-Members Spring 2012 Sessions All classes will meet on Wednesday nights from 9-11 pm at the ARC climbing wall. Session 1: February 1, 8, and 15 Session 2: February 22, 29, and March 7 The final class will focus on instruction specific to the Top Rope Belay endorsement. All participants will receive the Top Rope Belay endorsement at the session's conclusion.

Originating Calendar Campus Recreation - General Events
(Session 2: February 22, 29, and March 7)
Participants will learn and practice fundamental climbing techniques, climbing gear use, climbing wall operations and expectations, and everything else needed to safely climb at a gym. Topics include balance and posture, what to look for in your harness and shoes, various hand positions, route difficulty ratings, and more. Staff will provide personal coaching and everyone will have time to practice. If you've never learned the fundamentals, or if you've never climbed, this class is for you. No climbing knowledge or gear is required.
Register/pay at the ARC adventure center any time during climbing wall operating hours.
