The 2012 Black and Latino Male Summit (BLMS) provides a forum for Black and Latino men to discuss issues on manhood and to develop strategies to achieve academic success, professional development, and wellness. This summit seek to promote camaraderie, coalition building, and community between Black and Latino men at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The theme for this years summit is: Black and Latino Male Summit 2012: A Sideline Story. We ask that potential presenters incorporate this theme into their workshop. Inspired by rapper J. Coles song Sideline Story, the goal is to highlight and empower Black and Latino Males by putting them in the forefront rather than leaving them on the sideline.
