Take a Child Outside Week is September 21-29, and several local events are planned in observance of the week, which is set aside to celebrate the importance spending time in nature for children's development, learning, and well-being. - Mother Nature's Child Documentary Screening: 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, Spurlock Museum, free event; No registration required;
- Community Forum: 1-5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, U of I Activities and Recreation Center $10 per person (preregister by Sept. 24), $15 at the door, space is limited;
- Keynote with Richard Louv: 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, Alice Campbell Alumni Center, $10 per person (preregister by Sept. 24); $15 at the door, space is limited.
