Adrienne D. Dixson, associate professor in the Department of Education Policy, Organization and Leadership, is the keynote speaker for an event at Millikin University titled "A Conversation on Race 2013: A Call to Action."

Her primary research interest focuses on how issues of race, class and gender intersect and impact educational equity in urban schooling contexts. She locates her research within two theoretical frameworks: Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Black feminist theories. Along with her colleague, Celia K. Rousseau-Anderson, they edited CRT in Education: All God's Children Got a Song (2006, Routledge) one of the first book-length texts on CRT in education.
