As part of Project NEURON, we offer a number of different professional development opportunities for educators. A core group of Project NEURON teachers pilot our materials in their classrooms and generate essential feedback that we use to inform revisions of our curriculum materials as well as ideas for new materials. These teachers receive a stipend, CPDUs, free materials and resources, and a strong support community for their participation in our Summer NEURON Teachers' Institute (NTI) and Saturday meetings.
As part of an NIH Science Education Partnership Award program, we are offering a series of week-long summer NEURON Teachers Institutes that address core neuroscience and biology concepts in the National Science Education Standards and the new Framework for K-12 Science Education. Find out more about our 2013 summer NTI.
