Eckhard Meinrenken (University of Toronto) will present "On the linearization of Poisson Lie group structures." Abstract: A much-studied problem in Poisson geometry is the following question: Given a zero of the Poisson structure, is it possible to choose local coordinates in which the Poisson structure is linear? In general the answer is negative, but nice conditions are known that enforce a positive answer. In joint work with Anton Alekseev, we describe a large class of Poisson Lie groups for which linearizing coordinates exist. Furthermore, we show that one can choose coordinates that turn Poisson-Lie group multiplication into Lie-Poisson addition.
