What do school administrators mean when they refer to 'educating global citizens' or 'teaching 21st century skills'? If you don't have ready answers or definitions for these terms, you're not alone. This workshop will consider various definitions of global citizenship in the context of the U.S. and a globalizing world. Being a global citizen is not only about understanding other cultures but also understanding your own culture through the eyes of others. We'll use a reflexive process, along with examples of international content, pedagogical discussions with peer educators, and hands-on activities for project-based learning. - Credit: Participants will receive professional development credits. - Housing: Lodging will be provided for out-of-town participants.
