Kirmen Uribe is the winner of the Spanish National Award in Narrative in 2009 for his novel Bilbao-New York-Bilbao, recently translated into English. He is as well the author of an anthology of poetry, Bitartean heldu eskutik (2001) (translated as Meanwhile Take My Hand, Graywolf Press, 2007), and many other book of children literature and essay.
