This workshop has been canceled. It will be rescheduled for the spring. Thank you for your interest.

It happens to pretty much everyone who teaches at the college level: you have to teach something you don't know that well.  You may have to teach a required course normally taught by a colleague on sabbatical.  You may be hired into a small department where you can't always teach within your specialization.  You may have to teach the survey course, which includes those parts of your field you haven't thought about since you were an undergraduate.

Come to this workshop to hear advice from Therese Huston's book Teaching What You Don't Know, as well as from a panel of U of I instructors.  You will also have an opportunity to ask questions of our panel and to share your own ideas and experiences.
