Title: "Guarding All Children in Sleep: New Ideas for Reducing Disparities in Safe Sleep Practices"

Speaker: Stephanie Cowan, Founding Director of Change for Our Children in New Zealand

Cowan will discuss New Zealand's efforts to prevent SIDS across all racial and socioeconomic groups through public education. The presentation will be followed by a public conversation with experts and audience members.

The second half of the event will feature break-out sessions: Option #1 will be a panel on the latest research about levels of racial disparities, why they exist, and strategies to reduce them. Option #2 will be a hands-on training to help practitioners understand current standards of safe sleep practice, and how to communicate them to diverse audiences, including parents, the public, and policy makers.
