Title: "Unexplained Anemia in the Elderly"

Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Define age - dependent changes in the bone marrow that affects hematopoeisis.

 

  • Report the clinical and functional consequences of unresolved anemia in elderly.

 

  • Describe the assessment and management of elderly with unexplained anemia.

 

  • Detail research opportunities to address unexplained anemia of aging.

Grand Rounds is geared toward attending physicians in the Department of Medicine. The purpose of this activity is to expose attending physicians in the Department of Medicine to the latest developments in each of the ten sections of the department of further improve the quality of patient care and management.
