Betsey Jackson is President of Health Data Services Corporation (www.hdscorp.biz). Health Data Services Corporation provides free consultation and support to researchers seeking access to electronic health databases. The service includes nearly all commercially-available databases in the US and Europe, including traditional insurance claims databases, 'open' claims databases, hospital databases, claims and hospital linkages, electronic medical records (including primary care and IDNs), specialized databases (i.e., oncology, and others). Ms. Jackson will describe characteristics of health databases typically used by academics for secondary/observational research, and discuss how access to those databases can be obtained.
