In this fun and interactive workshop, participants will be asked to examine their own culture, "habits of the heart and mind", and learn about key values of other cultures. A key feature of the workshop will be a video of a U. S. classroom (domestic and international students) where communication and coherent functioning are constrained not only by the clash of contrasting perceptions of what is appropriate classroom behavior, but also by conflicting habits of the heart and mind. I plan for a rich discussion to follow the video and hope that it continues beyond the workshop.
