Whether you plan on having your students take a multiple-choice exam or show their work in problem-solving, the way you pose your test question can make a difference in their performance. This workshop will provide advice on and practice in writing test questions and compiling them into an effective test. Please submit one test question to dmsteele@illinois.edu by January 18 so that we can practice editing test questions with authentic (and anonymous) material. NOTE: This workshop covers testing issues, not grading issues, although tips for effective grading may come up during discussion.
