Have you ever mentored a student and not known how to guide them? Have you sometimes felt you and your student were completely failing to communicate? Join us for this interactive half-day workshop as we explore different personality and leadership styles and implications for the graduate mentoring relationship. Prior to the workshop, you will be asked to complete the DiSC™ personality inventory to identity your own leadership type including how you respond to conflict, solve problems, and work with others. During the workshop you will not only learn about your own leadership strengths but also how to recognize other styles. In addition, you will discover how understanding your DiSC™ profile can help you adapt your own style to improve your mentoring and enhance your students’ academic performance.
Following registration, faculty participants will be sent instructions for completing the DiSC™ assessment. In order to help us with planning, we ask that all registrants complete the online assessment by January 1, 2013
