Dr. Viswanath serves on the faculty of the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Center for Community-Based Research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he directs the Health Communication Core.

His research focuses on understanding and elucidating the relationship between communication inequalities and disparities in public and individual health in diverse populations and the implications for knowledge translation to influence public health practice and policy.
