Do you get overwhelmed trying to manage different versions of files and documents? Are you sick of dealing with conflict drafts when working with collaborators in Dropbox? Do you have folders that look something like this?:

Myfile.txt

Myfile2.txt

Myfile2-1.txt

Myfile_final.txt

Myfile_final_revised.txt

Myfile_final_revised_REAL_FINAL.txt

In this workshop you will learn how to streamline the process of managing revisions to your files with Git, a version control system, and GitHub, a web-based system for hosting Git repositories. You’ll get set up with your own GitHub account, create your first repository, and be well on your way to tracking your files and documents with fewer headaches. No prior experience is needed!
