Over the course of your career, you'll talk about your research to many different audiences in a variety of venues. Being able to communicate your work efficiently and demonstrate the significance of your findings well will have a profound positive effect on your career. In this workshop, you will learn some basic principles of effective communications, including how to analyze your audience, how to write with less effort, and how to present your results authoritatively, as well as practical strategies for improving your writing and speaking skills. The presenter, Celia Elliott from the Department of Physics, has extensive experience in technical communications, including writing proposals and grants, working as a technical editor for physics journals, and teaching science communication skills.  Please register here.
