Savvy Researcher Workshops - University Library

How do internet search engines work? What do we tend to do when we search that we might not even realize? This session will introduce participants to basic web searching concepts, touching on everything from principles of usability, to filter bubbles and the deep web. Through demonstrations and hands-on activities using free resources on the internet, participants will learn tips and tricks for searching more actively and thoughtfully. You will learn to be more thorough in your searching while at the same time quickly and carefully evaluating results. http://guides.library.illinois.edu/filterbubbles
