Career Drop-In service offers students a 15 minute career consultation with no appointment required. Career Drop-Ins are a great place to start for questions about the job search, major, internships, professional materials, or even graduate school. Anything career related is open for discussion!
Career Drop-In staff will connect you to campus, community, and national resources through referral. Some examples include how to complete an internship search, where to sign up for I-Link, or where to get job specific information.
Our Résumé and Cover Letter review services is used by thousands of Illinois students each year. This is an opportunity for you to receive feedback on the content of your résumé through our campus wide drop-in Review Service. Simply show up with a résumé or cover letter in-hand, and sign up for a 10-15 minute session with a trained student reviewer. In order to assist you in creating an interesting and attractive document, reviewers engage you in a discussion about your job history and the types of jobs you will be applying for using your résumé or cover letter. Please bring your target job description for resume and cover letter reviews, if available.
Reviewers assist you in tweaking the language and overall appearance of the résumé, but they do not check for errors in grammar or spelling. For those services, you should schedule an appointment at The Writers’ Workshop.
