Students come to Global Studies from many majors and colleges on campus, including engineering, ACES, general studies, political science, and more. Most students are eager to combine their interest in a language and region of the world with a particular thematic or topical focus, and, with good planning, students can double major or do a dual degree with Global Studies.
Prior to declaring the major, students must attend an information session. Information sessions are held frequently throughout the semester, and especially during change of major periods. During the information session, students can submit the paperwork to officially change or add the major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Once a student has attended an Information Session, he/she is welcome to schedule an individual appointment with an advisor.
