In the 2012 Corn Breeders' School we hope to give you a glimpse and an update on these new technologies and provide ideas on how they may be effectively applied. Plus, you will gain insight into fundamental corn breeding methodology for harnessing novel variation. Though technological advance will continuously give us ever more powerful tools to apply in selection, we still need to be remindful of the fact that the basic model encapsulated in the formula above remains the same today, just as it was in the days of Raymond Baker, Charlie Gunn, Glenn Stringfield, Merle Jenkins, and George F. Sprague.
