Global Studies in Education and the European Union Center would like to invite you to a free conference, Globalizing Education in the 21st Century: The Bologna Reform and Beyond, to be held October 18, 19, and 20, 2012, in the College of Education. The Bologna Declaration of 1999 set in motion a series of actions and policies dedicated to the reform of Europes higher education systems. Ten years after origination, 46 countries including those outside of the European Union, have pledged continued support to make Europes higher education system one of the best in the world. Understanding the Bologna Declaration policies, the Bologna Process, and their myriad of global consequences including increased competition, is particularly important for leaders in education and business seeking to better prepare the next generation of students, citizens, consumers, and entrepreneurs.
