The Graduate College Distinguished Lecture Series presents Dr. Cora Marrett as the Fall 2012 speaker.
Dr. Marrett is the Deputy Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF). Previously, Marrett served as the chief academic officer of the University of Wisconsin System and has served as senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. A fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Marrett is the recipient of several prestigious awards including NSF's Distinguished Leadership Award and the American Sociological Association's Cox-Johnson-Frazier Award, the latter of which she received for her contributions to the field of sociology and for her ongoing efforts for inclusiveness in knowledge institutions.
